When One Door Closes...

Two and a half weeks ago I ran in a 5K as a finale to the nine week C25K program. On the first of this month, I participated in my first dragon boating regatta. This past Sunday I completed a 10K race and saw the conclusion of a five week training program that I created to get me to a point where I could run the entire course. And Monday was the final session for the Body Strengthening class I have been taking.

Now what?

I think I know what I want to do next. I'm pretty sure I have a plan that could work to help me reach this potential goal. I am fairly certain that the direction I am leaning in makes sense...

But it is a big, scary, and significant ambition that I am toying with undertaking. Am I ready? Do I have what it takes to commit to something so out of the ordinary? Am I dreaming beyond my capabilities?

Who knew that I would ever consider a half marathon...

- 6 glasses of water
- 1/2 banana
- 1 pan-fried banana and light peanut butter wrap on a soft tortilla shell
- 2 cups grapes
- 3/4 cup fat free field berry yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups pineapple
- 1 heated tuna salad sandwich on a white Kaiser bun with tuna, cheese, zucchini, fat free Miracle Whip, mustard, and pepper
- 2 golden delicious apples with cinnamon
- 1 mug coconut steamed soy milk

- 30 minutes of jogging with a 5 minute walking warm up and a 5 minute walking cool down

  5. hehe running gets to you! First I said "I'll never run more than a 5k"...then it was a 10K...then I skipped that and trained for the half. :) And while I didn't get to run it due to injury I am as we speak typing up a FULL MARATHON training plan. So crazy how it works.

You can do it! I'm super excited for you :)

  6. you CAN Do it!!! so excited for you!

  7. And when you started this journey, did you EVER think you'd be RUNNING a 5k, 10k? Anything is possible if we set our minds to it! Don't let the "I don't know" fear get you! If you really want it, it's yours for the taking!! YOU GO GIRL!!! :)

  8. If *I* can do it at still 200+, you can CERTAINLY do it!! It's a mental game and you've got that part whipped!! :)

My race is 6/26 - I will have spent 15 weeks training (couldn't run 1 minute, today I'm running 12 miles).

    You can totally do this!!

  9. You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to!

  10. You have no idea how much you all get to me! I have tears welling up in my eyes because of how much you believe in me. From the bottom of my heart... thank you!

  11. My first 5k is next Sunday and I can't wait to see what doors open up after that.
