I've Had The Energy Sucked Right Out Of Me

I gave blood yesterday and, as a result, I am feeling pretty worn out right now. I already went for a walk today, but if this energy crash continues I think that will have to be the total culmination of my activities. I’d love to get in some more exercise and will do just that if I start to feel revitalized later on, but I have to listen to my body. For the time being it is simply telling me that I need to rest.

  1. Did you know that the pure act of giving blood burns off over 600 calories!!

I only wish I could give blood it means a lot to me - but after years of being able to and with all my new health issues they keep turning me away.

So thank you very much for doing this.

  2. Take a day of rest if that's what your body is telling you. It's always good to listen, and sometimes we forget that on our quest to losing weight and getting fit.

  6. That's not quite accurate about burning 600 calories for giving blood...at least not in one day. That's how many calories it takes over the process of six weeks or so for your body to replenish the blood you lost.

  7. Hmmm... I already knew about the blood weighing a pound, but 600 calories?! Whether it's right away or due to the body's replishing process I still think that's pretty darned good! Wonder if they'll let me bypass the eight week rule and start making daily appointments? LOL!
