  1. Rip the bandaid off. You can obviously to this level of running.. I mean, you WON the 5k. You spanked it. Do it. Even if you end up doing some walking in the middle. Go for it. Just finishing will be such a win. If you want to go for speed, there will be other 10k's or half's!!!

    Cheers,

  5. A half-marathon is a fantastic goal! Good luck!

For all the training you're doing, you might want to up your lean protein to preserve/build muscle as you lose weight.

  7. Just wanted you to know that I love reading your blog and even though I don't comment often I am silently rooting you on. My own weight loss journey has been somewhat rocky and when I see someone like you that has tackled all her challenges with grace and strength I am inspired to try harder myself. You will completely and totally ROCK your half marathon and I'm so impressed by your willingness to take on such an awesome challenge! Keep up the great work because you're a true inspiration!

  8. Wow! People sure want me to do this thing!

Kate, I'll be posting it again next week; that was just a test run!

Anonymous, the pan-fried banana and light peanut butter wraps are super easy: Put a thin layer of light peanut butter over one whole side of a soft tortilla shell and cut up a banana into slices to cover half of it. Fold it over to glue the banana between the peanut butter and put it into a frying pan that has a light coating of Pam or other spray. Cook on medium-high heat for a minute and flip; cook for a minute and check. I like mine to be a nice light brown on both sides so you may have to flip one or two more times. Cut in half and enjoy! (Warning: these are addictive!)

Great suggestion, Kathy; I have noticed a need for more protein since I started running.
