Derailed

I just had this thought as I was writing out my food list for today: “Huh! I ate a lot.” That’s never a good thing when you are trying to get back on track…

- 3 glasses of water
- 3 butter toffee rice cakes
- 1 banana
- 1 mug eggnog steamed skim milk
- 1 sandwich on multigrain bread with deli turkey, stuffing, lettuce, cranberry sauce, and light mayonnaise
- 1 apple fritter
- 2 grilled cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread with margarine
- 1/2 tangerine
- 1 coffee candy
- 12 inch sub on a white bun with deli ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise
- 1 large glass root beer
- 1 cup jalapeño potato chips
- 2 cups mint chocolate bar ice cream blend

  1. Is there anything that we your bloggy friends can do to help you get back on track?

  2. I feel weird giving advice to someone who is much thinner than I am (since you have obviously had great success on your own, it makes me feel a little hypocritical, lol) but if you do want a little advice, I would suggest taking small steps. Like, if you're going to get a sub, forfeit the cheese and mayo and just pile on veggies, meat, and mustard. I know when I go to Subway, my fav. sandwich is a turkey sub and all the things I listed above. Or instead of having two cups of ice cream, just have one cup or a half cup and eat really slow, savoring it.

I have been reading your blog for about a month now and notice you get a lot of disparaging comments. Not sure why but it makes me sad. I know the last thing I would want is for someone to give me the "tough love" approach, especially if they are hiding behind anonymity. Just ignore those comments and know that for everyone of those, there are dozens more of us who are here for you. Really, the most important thing when you're trying to get back on track is self-awareness and you do seem to have that so that's already a big step in the right direction.

    Take care!

  3. That's right Joy. And Jennifer is spot on too. Small steps... perhaps go back and read through your blog, try and spot the tough patches and see what helped you through them. You can do this!
