I’d Like Off This Ride Now

Up and down and up and down… That’s what I feel like my emotions have been doing for a while now, especially during this past week. I had another very trying day. It started out well enough (I had the opportunity to attend a workshop that I really, really enjoyed), but went downhill after that and now I am tired and cranky and feeling anxious. I need to try and find some way to maintain a more even keel; this emotional roller coaster is taking it out of me which, of course, makes staying on track with the eating and exercise even harder. I didn’t do horribly today, but I certainly could have done better.

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
- 4 glasses of water
- 3 cheese rice cakes
- 3 hazelnut chocolates
- 1/4 cup yellow peppers with ranch dip
- 1 portabella mushroom wrap on a soft tortilla shell with rice, lettuce, and sauce
- 1 brownie
- 1 double chocolate chip cookie
- 1 piece of a cranberry gingerbread square with icing
- 1 large eggnog steamed skim milk
- 1 candy cane chocolate

EXERCISE:
- 10 squats

  1. We all have those days!
Get some rest.. You will wake up tomorrow feeling better.
Getting back on track the next day is key.

  2. Try going for a run...the endorphins are a great mood stabilizer.

  4. It sounds like there's a lot going on. Just another reminder that eating too much sugar can add to that feeling of being on an emotional roller coaster. It adds to those jittery highs and bottom of the barrel lows. Eating better will help to get you on an even keel. Good luck!

  5. Those are the days that remind me: "Life is big."

Mostly, just letting life be "big" and feeling whatever I feel (without naming it or judging it or trying to figure it all out) seems to help me pass through all of it with a bit more serenity.

    Peace to you,
    Robin

  6. All the advice sounds great. Sleep, exercise, but it surely sounds like you are stressed! Try and clear your head... Whenever a worrying thought enters your head, banish it. Try to focus of positivity, if that's a word. You were doing so well, I know you can fight through this.

  7. What? I see some veggies ! If you want a more even emotional keel, get off the sugar. You're still relying too much on cakey/cookie/sugary crap. That wreaks havoc with blood sugar and keeps you on the rollercoaster. Move to fruits and more protein and ditch the sweets. seriously.

  8. Back to basics 266! You used to love awards. I left you the Honest Scrap award on my blog. You have to write 10 honest things about yourself and then tag 4 people. It's time for another one....

  10. I have been in the same boat lately....I made a decision today to treat this as if it is day one of my journey...in all respects. There is too much leeway in my mind if I start thinking I am an 'old hand'. If you know what I mean.
    Good luck for tomorrow.
