Lesson Plan

It was an odd day – one that was filled with seemingly disconnected annoyances that ended up accumulating into one big sense of disappointment. I swear that it feels like the universe it trying to teach me lessons right now. Hopefully they are important and worth learning because I can’t knock the feeling that my buttons are being pushed on purpose. Sigh…

Now if only I could plan these frustrating bouts for days where I don’t have homemade chocolate marshmallow treats lying around. At least I got in some decent walking this afternoon!

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
- 6 glasses of water
- 1 pear
- 8 pieces of a California sushi roll with soy sauce
- 1 mug eggnog steamed skim milk
- 1 apple fritter
- 1 pita bread with avocado and Asiago dip
- 2 small Mandarin oranges
- 7 cheese crackers with avocado and Asiago dip
- 1 1/2 cups steamed broccoli with margarine
- 1/2 cup mashed potatoes with gravy
- 1 slice Swiss steak with gravy
- 3/4 cup fat free strawberry yogurt with 1 cup whole grain Cheerios cereal
- 4 homemade chocolate dipped marshmallow treats

EXERCISE:
- 1 hour and 45 minutes of walking completes in 2 outings (15 minutes long, 1 hour and 15 minutes long and 15 minutes long)

  1. I'm glad that you got in some exercise! I have been having the problem that I don't seem to be making exercise enough of a priority. I fall asleep right before I'm ready to exercise. :(

  2. That's a lot of walking! Great effort! Please give yourself a big hug, or at least pat yourself on the back. :) Getting healthier means improving overall health, not just losing weight, as you have rightly pointed out in the past. Even if you are gaining or maintaining, exercise is sooooo important apart from any impact it has on weight management.

So, even if your eating style is not yet where you would prefer it to be, keeping up with some regular exercise will do GREAT things for your overall health, including your cardovascular system, immune system, hormone equilibrium, and maybe help reduce some of the ill effects of stress. It might even improve mood. Take care!

  4. Please don't feel frustrated enough with life to give up. I've been obsessing over your blog all day and I'm finding intense motivation for my own journey. I am now depending on you so you must say no to those home made treats and, when you do, tell me how you managed it.
