Letting The Air Out Of The Spare Tire

My stomach feels a little bit squishy. It seems to be losing that solid, full, rounded feeling that it has always had. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? If I poked it, it used to feel no different than part of my calf. I would say it was firm. But now, when I prod my midsection (hmmm... that in itself could be interpreted as a rather odd pastime) it feels less full and more malleable. It also seems like there is a little less elasticity - like the skin springs back a fraction of a second later than it would have before. It's not a big change, but to me it's noticeable.

Edit: I would also like to bring attention to a newcomer to the blogging world. I have received so much support from all of you and I would like to try and give back a little, so if you have time please swing by and check out April's new site. I found her last week when she started commenting on here... she is just beginning this struggle and could really use some encouragement. Thanks, everyone!

  1. I definitely know that feeling. I always did like the fullness of my fat, but I'm reconciled (mostly) to saying goodbye to it while I lose the weight. But the BOOBS! Let it not happen to the boobs!

  2. LMAO!!! I really hope it doesn't happen there either! I am fine with losing a cup size or five (40H is a lot to haul around), but I definitely don't want them to be regarded as less than firm. Woe is me... what have I started!?!

  3. Weight training, ladies! Great way to combat squish! My tum definitely has a layer of squish which I suspect will be mine always but the rest of me seems to be shrinking all right-- of course I lose weight so much more slowly than everyone else, a pound a month if I'm lucky!

  4. Good advice! I will consider adding more to my future workouts.

  5. I just found your blog, WOW! congratulations on your success & thank you for being open & honest on your journey so others who struggle can relate & use your journey as inspiration. I started to blog my journey today & am hoping for the same encouragement & accountability you found along the way. Anyway thank you again for sharing & I look forward to final success as you have. Your are my weight loss inspiration. Blessings
