Correlation Between Waistlines And Jeans Is Confirmed

I did the walk around the large park again today, although this time I was flying solo. As I was strolling along the path, I saw a sign left over from a run to raise money for cancer research and it got me thinking a little again about the concept of taking up the C25K program. When I got home I even researched a few different races that my area hosts. I am still not sure though…

My pants are feeling so loose and I am pretty sure that when I look down I am seeing a noticeable difference in the size of my chest. I’m also fairly convinced that the comfort issues I was having today when sitting on the bus are due to my shrinking posterior; less in the caboose means my back presses a bit straighter into the chair which feels odd right now (although I’m sure I will get used to it). Overall, I am doing really well and believe that I am truly adapting to this new lifestyle. I think my rings are even starting to feel less tight and constricting.

The pants though I really have to go back to for a second. All of the jeans I own – except for the pair I bought last week from the second hand store – are seriously and ridiculously baggy. The seats hang low, the legs are too wide, and they won’t even sit at my waist anymore because they all gap so much. I am constantly hauling them up and am now able to easily pull them down to my ankles without having to undo them. At least now I have a good excuse to moon people!

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
- 11 glasses of water throughout the day
- 2 cups Caesar salad with light dressing and croutons
- 1 toasted whole wheat English muffin with 1 light Laughing Cow wedge and strawberries
- 3/4 cup of fat free peach yogurt with 1 cup cranberry almond cereal
- 1 pan fried mustard chicken breast

EXERCISE:
- 2 hour and 10 minute walk
- 12 sets of walking up and down stairs (not all at one time)

  1. Buy new pants--? Or maybe find another blogger to trade? I have some 18s and 16s I would be happy to pass along to another blogger on their journey down.

I am going to ask the Forbidden Question, so just ignore me if you don't want to answer. How many calories are you eating in a day--? Are you eating enough protein, fiber, and good things? I don't know if that's a partial or a complete food list up there so forgive the question.

I would totally cheer you on for C25K!

  2. Are you going to buy some new pants? That was my one treat as I went down the scale. A new smaller size each time the previous one got baggy!

You are doing an awesome job. It's so fun to read about all those little signs of progress you are noticing.

  3. I cinched up my pants as long as possible with a belt and wore longer shirts. When that didn't work, I bought new pants and they were 2-3 sizes smaller than what I had been wearing!!!

  4. I totally relate to this post. I enjoy posts like your second one describing the little differences you feel in your body as time progresses. I tend to do a lot of that - I have a few more to report today! And the pants coming down without having to undo them :-/ I have that too, but I think it's also symptomatic of my butt losing fat faster than my big fat belly. Still, the buying of lower-sized jeans is fun. I started out at a size 24, so I went down to 22s and 20s. I recently bought a pair of 18s because my 20s are so baggy, but the 18s a little too small yet.

  5. I definitely recommend buying clothes that fit, even if means spending more money on clothes than you usually would. At least for me, that's been a huge motivator and source of excitement. :-)

  6. I have been buying myself at least one pair of inexpensive jeans as my size decreases, in fact buying them ahead of fitting into them and hanging them as a reminder on my bedroom door is a great motivator.

Thrift stores are also a good source, but hard to find a good fit.

    Well done!

  7. It is definitely time for a shopping trip and I think a thrift store may have to be the answer since it will (hopefully) only be a temporary fix.

Larkspur, you are not asking a forbidden question - on here there is no such thing. My intension has always been to use this blog as a completely honest journal upon which I can reflect and rely as I become a healthier me. However, the thought process that your wonderful question has provoked has led me to my next post. My response would have been too long to reserve for the comments section. I can tell you that my lists are complete though.
