It Was A Rewarding Day

Today, to celebrate the weight loss that I have achieved so far, my husband and I went out and bought flowers. I admit it... we totally went overboard.

We intended to buy enough to make a really nice bouquet - just a few bunches to make it a notable and memorable treat and to make it feel like a truly special occasion. It did not exactly go as planned, but I will say that we outdid ourselves. We ended up going to a few different shops so that I could get all of the flowers in the same shade, and I put together an absolutely gorgeous display that I simply have to show off. I'm so bad! Aren't they beautiful! Please, please don't ask what they cost (eek)!

How Do You Reward Your Weight Loss?

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
- 9 glasses of water throughout the day
- 2 cups of blueberries
- 1 wrap on a soft tortilla shell with roasted chicken, grated cheese, garden tomato, grated carrot, yellow pepper, garden cucumber, green onion, mushroom, green leaf lettuce, fat free Miracle Whip, mustard, and pepper
- 3 cups of celery with 2 Tb. peanut butter
- 3/4 cup fat free strawberry yogurt with 1 cup of Force Active cereal

EXERCISE:
- 35 minutes on the recumbent bike
- 2 sets of 15 lunges on each leg
- 2 sets of 15 squats
- 4 sets of 30 stomach crunches (2 straight, 1 right, and 1 left)

  1. Gorgeous!!! Aren't flowers a huge pick-me up? I love having fresh flowers, but mine never look like that! lol You have talent. =)

Your latest poll--I voted other. I don't officially reward myself. I do buy things along the way to help me on my journey, but I kind of think the weight loss is reward enough. Kinda/sorta. Sometimes I just think I'll buy this new video because I've lost weight and it will be a great tool.

  2. Oooh, I love flowers! Trying to add more to my landscape to save money. I *love* those, they are beautiful (and what a sweet husband to get them for you.)

  3. Thay smell so pretty too!!!

Great point of view, Jo. I never considered weight loss tools as a sort of quasi reward system.

  4. YOU are doing awesome my friend!!! Good for you!! and flowers that is great, I usually buy me some clothes...or jewlery that I like...and what a great idea to add a poll...I voted and it is usually when one goal has been set, that I add another..but keeping in mind the overall goal...really dont have any specific times set in which to reach them just so I do...Hope you had a great holiday!!
    Love,

  5. Gorgeous bouquet...quite the talented florist, aren't you?? :)

I reward myself for every 15 lbs. lost. I started with 92 lbs. to lose, so that's about 6 little rewards along the way. I set it up for every 15 lbs. because I wanted this journey to be fun!! It's great incentive, too. I'm loving it!! Just hit the 30 lb. lost marker and bought myself a low-fat, low-calorie crockpot cookbook...it's awesome!!

I also have a BIG reward for when all 92 lbs are gone. I'm planning a week long trip to Destin, FL and will spending that week with my 2 favorite sweeties....my boyfriend Dwayne and my puppy dog Scarlette...oceanfront....the palm trees and jacuzzi are calling me already!! Can't wait to get there!! My monthly goal is to lose 10 lbs each month, so far I'm on track. If I make it all the way through, stay on track, and don't hit any major plateaus that last more than a month, then I should be in Destin by April!!! I can NOT wait girl! :)
