Random Reflections

In less than twenty-four hours I will take my next progress picture. I am very interested to see if there are any significant changes. I know that I haven’t lost as much as I have in previous months, but a couple of commenters have reminded me that I am still probably losing a similar percentage as I was before due to my overall weight going down so much since the beginning of this journey. So I wonder if the losses will add up to a perceptible change on the photograph.

Getting past the two hundred pound mark, into onederland, proved to be a really tough milestone. I am not sure of the exact nature of the mental block that seemed to be slowing my progress around that time, but I am thankful that I have now gotten past it and am slowly seeing more regular drops again. Although I am not expecting tomorrow’s weigh-in to show an enormous loss, I am grateful that I am once more seeing the consistency from day to day which I had somehow gotten away from last month.

I am very, very glad that I made the decision to put that exercise tracker at the top of my page. I feel like these past couple of days in particular could have easily turned into no workout days if I wasn’t holding myself accountable in that manner. The busyness of the season was really threatening to throw a wrench into my plans, but I think the tracker will help me stay focused even amid the upcoming chaos.

The day is remarkable sunny today so I would really like to get out there for a walk, but I am not certain that will happen. I will do my best though since I definitely don’t want to miss out on the few opportunities left this year for outdoor recreation. I will get in some activity in one form or another though and I will be back this evening, as usual, to report and record. Until next time…

  1. I found 200 to be a tough milestone as well. In fact, though I'm under it, I'm still not as far away from it as I would like.

I should exercise, but it's TOM and I'm dying of pain. My back hurts (which is nothing new--it always hurts--but it's worse), and I have cramps. I know it's an excuse. I'd probably feel better if I did something in the realm of gentle exercise.

How often do you do progress pics? I do it every 10 pounds, and there's always a noticeable difference.

  2. I can't wait to see your pictures. At the weight you are, every few pounds really does make quite a difference in your appearance. And getting into the 100's? Really, really an exciting time isn't it? I still remember the date I hit 199 - all those years ago!

  3. Lainey, I do updated measurements and progress pictures for the first weigh-in of every month. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Diane, thanks for the vote of confidence for tomorrow! And like you, I went and woke my husband up to tell him the morning I weighed under 200 - tee hee!

staying in onederland is hard, I think. I'm not there yet this time but I have been. I think it takes a whole new attitude. And I think you have what it takes!
