Wow!

Today I got a ‘wow’ reaction from a friend I haven’t seen in over three months! I am sure I must have been about 50 pounds heavier when I last saw her. It was really great to chat about all of the changes I have made to my lifestyle and to be able to speak so comfortably about the weight coming off. I think I have just finally reached a point where talking about this journey to other people is not as big of a deal as it was in the beginning. Mind you, that may have been born of necessity since I think it’s pretty much impossible for people to have not noticed my transformation by this point and most of them have mentioned it at least once by now.

The day was good and I got to spend time with some great people. I ate reasonably even though my choices where somewhat more limited than normal. The exercise was a little depleted due to my injury, but that was to be expected. I am mixing it up and doing what I can. My heel feels better now than it did at the start of the day so I am hoping that it won’t take too long until I am back at a hundred percent. For now, I am simply trying to figure out if I have any holiday outfits that will compliment the particular shade of purple which is gracing my foot!

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
- 8 glasses of water throughout the day
- 1 banana
- 1 mug gingerbread steamed soy milk
- 2 Mandarin oranges
- 1 sandwich on white bread with seasoned roast chicken, mayonnaise, and mustard
- 2 slices pork roast
- 1/2 cup corn with butter
- 1 cup seasoned rice with carrots
- 1 cup fruit salad

EXERCISE:
- 2 sets of 2 minutes of weight lifting with 10 lbs per arm while laying down
- 4 sets of 50 stomach crunches (2 straight, 1 right, and 1 left)
- 3 sets of 10 knee push ups
- 3 sets of 15 bent leg donkey kicks for each leg
- 3 sets of 25 side lying leg raises for each leg
- 2 sets of 10 back extensions

  1. Congrats! Isn't it a great feeling. I went to lunch with a couple of friends who haven't saw me in person (just pics) since my weight loss and the reaction was enough to keep me all happy for like a week. :)

  4. Hi thought you might be interested in checking out my blog. I have been reading yours off and on since you began this. My highest non-pregnancy weight is also 266. I am trying a experiment and I am going to blog about my progress.
My experiment is I am going back to your first post and am going to follow your food plan and exercise regime. It's going to be hard but I am up for the challenge. Wish me luck ")

  5. How exciting to get compliments! Yes, you know you are losing weight & your pics show it but isn't it always fun to have somebody else tell you!!!! All that hard work does pay off!

I hope your injury is better soon!

  6. Those wow reactions never get old!

Glad your foot is feeling better - that is one of my biggest fears, hurting myself while working out!

  9. Thanks, all!!!

And thanks for clarifying, Joania... he he! That would be a bit strange!

Heather, I really appreciate your kind words and I am definitely going to check out your blog later today. I would also encourage you though to tailor a program to suit your own needs - there are so many factors which are probably different between us that you really must take into consideration. Height, lifestyle, body type, free time, support systems, etc. I really am very happy you are so inspired, but please be sure that you are following a plan which is right for you! The key to this is sustainability and while I have had my chllenges along the way, it hasn't been all that 'hard' for me. It is something which fits my life longterm and I hope that is something you are aiming for in your own program, rather than a duplicate of something that works for an entirely different individual. I am SO exicted for you that you are ready to start a new path and I will definitely be here to cheer you on! I have no doubt that you, and everyone who sets their mind to losing weight, can do it!!! If you want to discuss it further, please feel free to email me. Best of luck!
