I have already done my exercise for the day and I am excited to say that it was something totally new and different: dragon boating! My hubby and I went this morning and tried out this fun activity with a local team to see what it was like. What a blast! It took me all of about twenty seconds to fall in love with this sport!
Wow! Was it ever a great experience! I loved the camaraderie that you instantaneously feel and the way that you are moving every part of your body. I had obviously been expecting a good arm workout, but my legs and core were engaged the whole time too. That was surprising and my whole frame felt like jell-o by the time we docked the boat. I am exhausted right now and think that I may just have to have a nap before too long if I want to make it through the rest of my day.
I have no idea if we will be able to afford to join the team or not, nor if its practices will work with our schedules, but I would love to look into it. I think that dragon boating could turn out to be a really exciting and fun way to stay in shape!

ReplyDeleteOh, dragonboating is wonderful! I was on a dragonboat for two years when I lived in Japan, and it was the most wonderful form of exercise! I've been looking for a team to join in Toronto too. :)
ReplyDeleteI left a comment yesterday but didn't see it later, so I just want to say I've been reading your blog daily (I'm a friend of Dawne's) and think you look AMAZING! :)

ReplyDeleteBrenda, I wonder if it was your comment that I noticed as a glitch yesterday? I saw that I had a new comment, but when I clicked to see there was nothing there. Not sure what happened, but I'm glad you can comment now! Thanks for the nice remarks!
Kimi, yes, it's been quite the journey so far! Thanks!
