Beauty Is Truth

I discovered today that I am the happy recipient of the Beautiful Blogger Award! Both Jenn at Watch My Butt Shrink and Beckie at Confessions Of A “Pleasingly Plump” Single Mommie!!! have bestowed this nifty accolade unto me and I couldn’t be more honoured! I am always so touched when someone decides that this blog is worth recognizing and I can’t thank you two ladies enough!

As is the norm with these fun badges, I get the added pleasure of passing it onto a few other bloggers – in this case, I am able to name seven sensational scribes. There are, of course, many more I would love to note, but I will stick with the guidelines of this award for today. Congratulations to the following:

1. K. at *Fitcetera*
2. L. at 100in12
3. Tammy at From Fat To Fab
4. Jack at Jack Sh*t, Getting’ Fit
5. Lainey at Shrink
6. Sheilagh at Sixty By Sixty Was The Plan…
7. Sean at The Daily Diary Of A Winning Loser

There is one other bit of amusement that accompanies the receipt of this award. I am to write seven true things about myself that people do not already know. Well, I’m fairly certain no one has heard me go on about these random facts, so hopefully they suffice!

1. I currently have five piercings, but I used to have one more.
2. In the room I am in right now there is - amongst many other items - a yellow and red fuzzy puppet, numerous massage oils, several strings of Christmas lights, eleven rolls of pennies, and a bodhran.
3. One of my biggest dreams is to publish a book.
4. I absolutely love citrus scents and enjoy most of the spicy ones too, but I am not a big fan of many floral or woodsy fragrances.
5. I’m pretty good at tongue twisters.
6. I have a tattoo.
7. The wanderlust that I have is a very intricate part of me, challenged only by my innate desire for developing deep roots.

  1. I agree that you are a beautiful blogger. Not only that, but you took the time to respond to my e:mails - I'm so new at this, and I felt so supported that you would take time to write me. Thanks.

  2. Congrats on the award!! You deserve it. I am so with you on the citrus scents!!

  3. congrats, I'm just amazed to see you visit these blogs. I'd often wondered if you visited any. I've read your blogs daily since the begining, left numerous comments, etc...I've never received one comment in return from I kinda figured that you never ventured to others blogs.

  4. You're so worthy of that award!! Helen gave me one too!! You both are so deserving. I'm honored that you picked me. Nice company on that list. I'm thrilled to be on my journey alongside amazing people like you!

    My best always,

  5. CONGRATS & deserved!!!! Man, those piercings & tatoo caught me by surprise! :-) Love hearing all the cool stuff about you!

  6. Congratulations on the award, 266! You are doing just so amazing!

I'm not sure I deserve this as I'm failing miserably at this weight loss thing. However, THANK YOU! I'll try harder to get back on track.

p.s. Looks like you got flamed today. Undeserved.

  7. Aw, thank you! Now I'm trying to think of 7 things to write on my post today. :o)

To Anonymous (very courageous to hide behind the anonymity of the internet that way, btw): It's a big, big blogging world out there. I have left comments on people's blogs and not gotten one back. Sometimes you just don't. Personally I don't feel other bloggers owe that to everyone who comments. How exhausting!

  8. OMG...Thank you, I am honoured:0)
Now I have to start thinking..LoL

Thanks again for you great support and the brilliant inspiration your blog sends out.

To Anonoymous, I often leave comments on other blogs and don't get a reply, I don't reply to every comment I get either. Blogging isn't automatically reciprocal.

  9. I was happy to give you the award... you deserve it. You inspire me every time I read your blog.

Dear Annonymous, I agree with everyone else. Sometimes I get too busy to respond to comments right away and other times comments I make don't get replied to. Oh well. The point of blogging is to share what's on your mind... do you REQUEST responses from your readers? Just curious!

    Anyway, HAPPY BLOGGING!!!

  10. Thanks, everyone!

Anonymous, while I don’t believe that it is possible to regularly visit each blog that I have discovered over the past five months, I am still surprised by your comment. Up until very recently (as in, just over this last month) I made a very specific point of leaving at least one remark on every single link that I was able to find for anyone who has commented, emailed me, or joined up to follow this blog. I would be very shocked to learn that I ever missed one up until December as I thought I had been quite diligent in this practice. Perhaps you don’t have an updated link to your site from your profile? At any rate, I am not able to continue with this practice anymore as I simply don’t have the time to frequently check in with over 140 online journals. Personally, my general criteria for actually following a blog are that is must be updated very regularly and is written in a style that I find enjoyable. Again, if I had more hours in a day I don’t doubt that I would visit many more sites than I do on a regular basis, especially those of the generous supporters whom I know I am fortunate to have. If you would like to send me your blog address in a private email (or in a comment here) I would be happy to come and check out your site! However, please don’t misconstrue a lack of comments as a lack of interest. If I had the time I would read much more often than I do, but the other components of my life simply don’t allow for such luxeries.

  11. wow - sorry, my comment was not meant to be mean spirited...I was just being honest in my impression. I thought you were possibly the type who blogged for yourself and didn't really "Read around". I know some bloggers do post but only really for ther personal use, an online journal - people read it- great, but they aren't looking for a fan base or anything. I just got the impression you were that style.

  12. I didn't think you were being mean spirited. I just felt like your comment deserved a thorough explaination since I don't want anyone to feel like I don't care! :)

  13. Wow...that's the most politely handled discussion between a blogger and an anonymous commenter I've ever read here in Blogland. I applaud both of you!

Thank you so much sweet friend for the award. You know I think it's undeserved, lol, because you know me well enough now....and it just touches me so deeply that you think I deserve it anyway. It always feels good to make the short list!! Again, thank you. :)

  14. I didn't take you for the type to have multiple piercings! Cool...I enjoyed that little fact. I assume they're not all in your ears!?!

  15. Ha ha! They ARE all in my ears! I just like to sound cooler than I am!!! LOL!

Thanks for such a nice compliment, Tammy!
